Frequently asked questions

Clear answers before we get started.

Learn how KIR works, what we deliver, and what to expect when you start a project or request a consultation.

What information should I include in an enquiry?

Share the outcome you want, what exists today, any important deadline, your approximate budget if known, and the people who will use the solution.

Do you work with small businesses and start-ups?

Yes. We shape each engagement around the real need, from a focused website project or technical review to ongoing technology support.

Can you improve an existing website or system?

Yes. We can review websites, software, infrastructure, security and code before recommending the safest and most valuable improvement path.

Which services does KIR Technology provide?

We provide web design, app and software development, cloud migration, cybersecurity, code review and modernisation, KIR Access accessibility services, KIR Secure health checks, digital verification, IT support and technology consulting.

Can KIR Verify prove that a picture or document is fake?

No. KIR Verify provides preliminary technical screening and explains the signals it finds. It cannot prove factual truth, authorship, AI generation or fraud, so important decisions still require source verification and appropriate human review.

How quickly will you respond?

We normally respond within one business day. Urgent support requests can also be raised by phone or WhatsApp.

What happens after the first conversation?

We clarify the problem, desired outcome, timing and constraints. We then recommend practical next steps and provide a clear scope or assessment proposal where appropriate.

Is a consultation request automatically confirmed?

No. Your chosen date and time remain a request until the KIR team confirms the appointment or suggests the nearest available alternative by email.

Do you work with clients outside the UK and Nigeria?

Yes. We deliver suitable projects remotely and agree communication, time-zone and support arrangements before work begins.

How do you protect confidential information?

We collect only the information needed to respond or deliver the service, restrict access appropriately, and agree additional confidentiality or security requirements before sensitive work begins.

Do you provide ongoing support after launch?

Yes. Depending on the project, we can provide maintenance, monitoring, improvements, technical support and consulting after launch.

Can KIR take over a project started by another developer?

Yes. We begin with a technical and code review so we understand the current condition, risks and documentation before proposing any changes.

What is the difference between Cybersecurity and KIR Secure?

Our Cybersecurity service covers wider business risks such as identity, devices, cloud services, people, policies and recovery. KIR Secure focuses on public website and DNS exposure, beginning with a passive configuration scan. Neither service is a penetration test unless active testing is separately authorised and agreed in writing.

What is included in a Mini Code Review?

A Mini Code Review examines one agreed feature, pull request, code area or critical journey. It highlights code quality, maintainability, obvious security or dependency risks, and provides a concise prioritised findings summary.

When should I choose an In-Depth Code Review?

Choose an In-Depth Review for an inherited, ageing or business-critical system. It considers architecture, code quality, security, performance, testing and technical debt, with risk-rated findings and a prioritised improvement roadmap.

Does KIR need full access to our source code?

Not always. We request the least access needed for the agreed scope. A focused review may use selected files, a branch or pull request, while a wider review may require read-only repository access and supporting documentation.

Will KIR fix issues found during a review?

Review work identifies and explains issues. We can separately quote for agreed remediation, modernisation, validation or ongoing support, allowing you to use KIR, your existing team or another provider for implementation.

How are project prices and payments agreed?

Published prices are starting points or clearly defined offers where stated. Bespoke scope, fees, payment stages, taxes and third-party costs are confirmed in a written proposal or service agreement before paid work begins.

Who owns the finished website or software?

Ownership and licence terms are confirmed in the project agreement. Typically, agreed bespoke deliverables transfer after full payment, while KIR tools, reusable methods, third-party components and open-source software retain their existing ownership and licence terms.

Can I cancel or change a project?

Tell us as early as possible. The applicable proposal or service agreement explains change requests, cancellation, work already completed, committed third-party costs and any consumer rights that apply.

What do website-care plans cover?

Coverage depends on the selected plan and written scope. It may include agreed maintenance, monitoring, backups, updates, support and a defined allowance for content changes. Unused time, major redesigns and new functionality are handled according to the plan terms.
